For buyers

Buying a new build

New-build townhouses can be a great way into the Auckland market, especially for first home buyers. Before you sign, have your lawyer review the agreement, ask about the builder's guarantee and the expected completion date, and check whether the title is freehold or unit title.

Tejinder can explain the process in English, Punjabi, Hindi, Mandarin, Urdu or Arabic.

Do you sell multi-lot developments?

Yes. New-build townhouses and multi-lot developments make up a big share of the team's work, including developments in Papatoetoe, Mangere, Manurewa and Wattle Downs.

When should a developer talk to an agent?

Ideally before plans are finalised. Early feedback on layouts, parking, bedroom mix and finishes can help each lot fit what local buyers are looking for.

What should buyers check when buying off the plans?

Ask your lawyer to review the agreement, including how your deposit is held, the expected completion date and any sunset clause, and what happens if the build is delayed. Check whether the title is freehold or unit title, and ask what's covered by the builder's guarantee.
